The Pro Audio add-on: DAW masters and stems

Podcast Studio is enough for many speech-heavy shows. Some productions need the source tracks in a DAW, a detailed mix, and a way to bring the finished master back without moving the episode to a different host. That is the job of the Pro Audio add-on.
It costs an additional $15/mo on Hobby and Creator. Scale and Enterprise include Pro Audio, so this add-on is aimed at the lower paid plans that need a more controlled post-production path.
Get the source files you need
Pro Audio provides lossless WAV stems and package export rather than only a browser-generated mixdown. Package export gathers the individual tracks into an organized download so an engineer can open the session in Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, or another DAW.
The exact source tracks depend on the recording. ISO guest tracks are available on Scale and Enterprise, so a Hobby or Creator workflow should not assume it has isolated tracks for every participant. The value of the add-on is the lossless material and export path available for the tracks your show captured.
Plan the handoff before exporting
Decide who will receive the package and what the final file should be called before the export starts. A small team can save the source package, the working session, and the final master under the same episode name with clear versions. That makes it easier to know which file should be uploaded later and which files are safe to remove.
Listen to the browser mix before committing to the round-trip. If it already meets the show’s needs, an export and re-import will add time without adding an audible improvement. If the engineer needs a specific chain or the episode contains layered sound design, the additional step has a clear purpose.
Bring the final master back
The round-trip becomes useful when the DAW work is complete. Export the package, mix the episode, and return to the episode in Podcast Studio. Upload Final Master replaces the browser audio with the file you mastered.
The episode stays in the Podcast Studio workflow after that upload. You can continue with the transcript editor, chapters, and RSS distribution. If you use AI chapter drafts on Creator and above, those tools remain part of the surrounding publishing work; the master file is simply the audio listeners receive.
The extra storage matters
Lossless audio packages take more room than a compressed mix. The Pro Audio add-on adds 100 GB of cloud storage to support those source files and exports. That gives a solo creator or small production team more room to keep working files without immediately deleting older material.
It is still worth deciding what should stay in Flight Log. Extra storage is not an archive policy. Keep the masters and stems that you may need again, and remove duplicate exports when the project is finished.
The extra 100 GB is also a reason to watch retention and storage together. A package can remain available in the account while the episode itself follows the plan’s normal recording rules. Download the keeper files according to the team’s archive practice instead of assuming the add-on changes every retention window.
Who should add it
Pro Audio fits a creator who has a repeatable DAW mix chain, a hired audio engineer, complex sound design, or a requirement for lossless stems. It also fits a team that wants to upload a final master while keeping Podcast Studio’s chapters and distribution around it.
It is a poor fit if your main tasks are removing filler words, shortening silence, and cleaning an ordinary interview. Those jobs may be faster in the browser, especially when no one on the team needs to inspect individual tracks.
Pay for Pro Audio when you need the source and the return path—not because a DAW makes a simple edit feel more official.
The add-on bridges two workflows: a controlled DAW mix and a hosted podcast episode. Use it when that bridge saves more time or quality than it costs.
Use Pro Audio when you need
- Lossless WAV stems or an organized package for a DAW handoff.
- A repeatable mix chain, layered sound design, or an external audio engineer.
- Upload Final Master so the finished mix can stay inside Podcast Studio.
- A clear archive plan for the extra source files and exports.
