Law Enforcement Guidelines
ApexStream cooperates with valid legal process while protecting the privacy and rights of our users.
Data We May Have
Depending on account activity and retention periods, ApexStream may have account identifiers, email address, subscription and billing metadata, login timestamps, session IP addresses, stream ingest IP addresses, ingest region, media-node identifiers, stream start and stop timestamps, destination connection events, and recording metadata.
We do not maintain secret archives of broadcasts. Cloud recordings are retained according to the customer's plan and may expire automatically.
Retention Overview
- Routine raw login IPs, session IPs, stream ingest IPs, and connection telemetry are retained for 12 months, then anonymized.
- Billing and tax records may be retained for up to 7 years.
- Recordings are retained according to plan limits and customer actions.
- Scoped records may be preserved longer when subject to a valid preservation request, legal hold, abuse investigation, dispute, or legal obligation.
Preservation Requests
Authorized law enforcement agencies may request preservation of existing records while they obtain valid legal process. A preservation request should identify the target account or stream with as much precision as possible and include the applicable legal authority.
Submitting a Request
Requests should be sent from an official government or law enforcement email address and include:
- Agency name, officer or agent name, badge or reference number, and contact information.
- The legal process or preservation request on official letterhead.
- The target email address, stream URL, account ID, IP address, or exact timestamps in UTC.
- The categories of records requested and the date range.
